The Democratic Republic of Congo celebrates December 5th of each year, the National Day of the Tree. "Tree, in its economic, ecological and environmental dimension" was the theme chosen this year by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.

Through the Forests General Directorate, the Directorate of Horticulture and Reforestation wanted to get out of the ordinary with the simple act of planting a tree, it organized a mini-fair for National NGOs who carry out projects on the environment in general and reforestation in particular.

HPP-CONGO was among the NGOs that participated actively in this mini-fair held from the 3rd to the 5th of December 2018 in the premises of the Directorate of Horticulture and Reforestation located at 7th Street Limete-Industriel. HPP-Congo stand was valiantly held by the trio of exhibitors composed of Mrs. Patience BONDENGELA and Messrs. Edouard BOLA and Michel LUKUSA.

Mr Edouard BOLA, made a presentation that reconciled both the mitigation of global warming and the adaptation of vulnerable communities to climate change, the subject raised several questions from the audience and satisfactory answers were given to the questions some participants.

During this fair, the stall of HPP-Congo was crowded by the visitors and this enthusiasm grew bigger during the 3 days. A range of information and communication materials on HPP-Congo such as leaflets, the 2017 annual report, HPP-Congo's declarations of capabilities in its various fields of intervention and many other documents were picked by a thousand visitors.

Explanations allowing visitors to understand the mission and vision of HPP-Congo were provided by the members of the trio in charge of the stand

Note that this fair allowed HPP-CONGO to get in touch with other NGOs working in the environment in general and in reforestation in particular. The Secretary General for the Ministry Environment and Sustainable Development has asked the management of HPP-CONGO to get in touch with him for further discussions on environmental projects.

We thank the organizers of this fair for the efforts made for its success and urge the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development to multiply such initiatives to make known the virtues of this multiple-use being that the tree.

The participation of HPP-Congo in this fair contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
